Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928. Amelia Earhart was also the second person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932. Amelia Earhart was the first person to fly solo from Hawaii to California in 1935. When Amelia Earhart was seven years old her father Edwin took the family to the St. Louis World's Fair. From the first grade she attended the College Preparatory School in Atchison. The place was so tiny it only had about 30 students housed in a building that used to be a stable. Amelia Earhart took her first ride in an airplane in 1920. Amelia Earhart took flying lessons in a Curtiss JN-4 Jenny. Amelia Earhart broke the record for the womans most altitude record in 1922. On June 1937 Amelia embarked upon the first around the world flight to the equator. On July 2 after she completed nearly two-thirds of her historic flight over (22,000 miles) she vanished along with her navigator Frederick Noonnan. Her death is a mystery but the bones found on the island may or may not be her's but if they are they could tell wether she spent her last days on that island.
